What to Expect

Initial Consultation (15-20 minutes)

Your session begins with a comprehensive discussion about your health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. This is your opportunity to share what's been bothering you and what you hope to achieve.

What Julia will ask about:

  • Your current pain or discomfort levels
  • When symptoms started and what triggers them
  • Previous injuries, surgeries, or treatments
  • Your daily activities, work, and exercise habits
  • Any medications or health conditions
  • Your goals for treatment and recovery

Physical Assessment (15-20 minutes)

Julia will conduct a thorough physical evaluation to identify the root causes of your symptoms. This assessment helps create a targeted treatment plan specific to your needs.

Assessment includes:

  • Postural analysis while standing and sitting
  • Range of motion and movement patterns
  • Palpation to locate trigger points and restrictions
  • Muscle strength and flexibility testing
  • Identification of compensatory patterns
  • Discussion of findings and treatment approach

Customized Treatment (30-90 minutes, depending on session length)

Based on her assessment findings, Julia will apply specific neuromuscular therapy techniques tailored to address your unique condition and symptoms.

Treatment may include:

  • Trigger point therapy and ischemic compression
  • Myofascial release techniques
  • Corrective muscle manipulation
  • Nerve entrapment release work
  • Joint mobilization when appropriate
  • Relaxation techniques for nervous system calming

Post-Treatment Discussion (5-10 minutes)

After your treatment, Julia will explain what she found, what was addressed during the session, and provide recommendations for your continued care and recovery.

You'll receive:

  • Explanation of findings and areas treated
  • Home care recommendations and exercises
  • Timeline expectations for improvement
  • Scheduling recommendations for follow-up care
  • Answers to any questions you may have
  • Written notes or instructions if needed

Your First Session Experience

Privacy & Comfort

You'll only undress to your comfort level. Julia will work around clothing when necessary and always maintains appropriate draping. Your privacy and comfort are the top priorities.

Communication During Treatment

Julia will explain what she's doing and check in about pressure levels. Feel free to speak up about comfort, pain levels, or any concerns during the session.

Pressure & Intensity

Neuromuscular therapy can be more intense than relaxation massage. Julia will adjust pressure based on your tolerance and condition. Some discomfort during trigger point work is normal.

Session Length Options

First visits often benefit from 90-minute sessions to allow time for thorough assessment and treatment. However, 60 or 120-minute options are also available based on your needs.

After Your Treatment

Immediate Post-Treatment

Drink plenty of water to help flush metabolic waste. You may feel relaxed, energized, or slightly sore - all normal responses. Take your time getting up and moving around.

First 24-48 Hours

Some muscle soreness is common, similar to post-exercise soreness. This indicates your muscles are responding to treatment. Gentle movement, stretching, and staying hydrated help.

Ongoing Improvement

Benefits often continue developing for 2-3 days after treatment. You may notice improved range of motion, reduced pain, and better sleep patterns as your body integrates the work.

Home Care

Julia may recommend specific stretches, exercises, or self-care techniques. Following these recommendations can significantly enhance your treatment results and prevent issues from returning.

Follow-Up Care

Julia will recommend an appropriate treatment schedule based on your condition. Acute issues may need more frequent visits initially, while maintenance care might be monthly or as needed.

Questions or Concerns

If you experience unusual pain, discomfort, or have questions after your session, don't hesitate to contact Julia. She's available to address any concerns about your treatment.
